April 3 – Nine Days Old This morning Kristyn found two of the kits outside of the nest on the side of the nest box. Luckily I had anticipated that some might start getting out of the nest box, so I lined the entire front part of the cage with a layer of hay so
April 2 – Eight Days Old Lexi fed her babies again last night. This morning they were all fat and sleeping and cuddled in the nest. We now know what colors they will all be. There is one orange, one cream, one black tort, two broken orange and one broken blue torts. The orange looks
April 1 – Seven Days Old We woke up early this morning even though it was a Saturday because we had to help Lexi feed the bunnies, but when I got to the cage all the bunnies were well fed and sleeping happily in the nest. Lexi finally figured it out. Either she finally realized
March 31 – Six Days Old The bunnies are so beautiful with a variety of colors. After the morning nursing, they pawed around in the nest for a while looking for a comfortable position, before setting down in a heap to sleep. Usually after they eat and their bellies are full, they are very sleepy.
March 30 – Five Days Old We are beginning to see the colors of the kids. One is definitely a black tort. Another might be a solid orange like Lexi. It looks like there might be a blue tort and then maybe two broken orange bunnies and one broken tort. Still not sure, because each
March 29 – Four Days Old Lexi peed on her babies. They were all wet and sticky. We had to take each one from the nest and wipe it with a cloth dipped in warm water. Then we took another cloth to dry each kit. Next I cleaned the entire nest box since Lexi had
