April 15 – 21 Days Old
The kits are three weeks old today. It is amazing how fast they grow. When I look back at the photos taken three weeks ago, when they were born, they look so tiny and hairless. They look like tiny pink bent thumbs, and now they look like actual bunnies.
I put the food bowl in Lexi’s cage in the back room where she usually eats. Willow, the black tort, immediately leaped out of the nest box and hopped over to her mother tucking her body under Lexi and starting to nurse. The entire time that Lexi ate her breakfast, Willow, known as Willow the Walrus, was happily nursing. The other five bunnies were still in the nest oblivious to the fact that their sibling was having another meal.
